Yes, online freelancing is one of the most sought-after ways for earning money online during the worldwide lockdown due to the outbreak of COVID-19 or the Corona Virus. Online freelancing is helping thousands from around the world to continue making money from online sources while working from home.

COVID-19 lockdown has affected many professionals as most of us are now locked down in our homes and are not able to go out to work as usual. Our social life also got hit as we cannot go out and meet friends and acquaintances like earlier.

Many people around the world are losing jobs or are out of work. The future for many of us has become uncertain.

However, in these tough times, too, the online freelancers are able to make money. It is also true that for some sectors, the workload has gone down. But for other areas in freelancing, the amount of work has gone up.

We must remember that there are simple and interesting waysof making money during this lockdown and online freelancing is not the only way. Nevertheless, it is one of the most prominent ways to earn money online during the Coronavirus lockdown.

In this article today, I am going to talk about the advantages of being a freelancer in these bad times when the global pandemic is on the rise. I will try to answer the question, can online freelancing survive during COVID-19 Lockdown?

Let’s get a couple of basics out of the way first.

What is Freelancing?

Freelancing is a way of earning money where the service seeker and the service provider work together on an ad-hoc basis and are not bound by contracts that can force any of them to work with each other again in the future. They collaborate for a short time, and they are free to work with someone else afterward.

What is Online Freelancing?

Online freelancing is freelancing using digital means and transacting online. Here, the service provider and the service seeker meet online, discuss and agree on the project specifications, including deliverables, payment, and timelines over the computer or on the phone work digitally using the computer or mobile phones, deliver the work online, and get paid online too.

At times a few of the above steps may be completed offline, based on the project requirements, but overall, this is how online freelancing system works.

In general, an online freelancer works from his home or home-office or even a co-working place. This aspect of online freelancing has encouraged a lot many people to take it up as a full-time career option. It turns out to be an essential feature right now as well, in these torrid times.

How is online freelancing helping during the Coronavirus pandemic?

It is the question that I am trying to answer in this article. Online freelancing is helping the businesses of thousands and lakhs of business owners even during this unfortunate situation where it has become tough to go out and do business as usual. Let’s see how.

During the lockdown, people from all over the world are asked to stay home. A lot of corporate offices have also asked their employees to work from home. Home is regarded as a safe zone for all of us.

As this condition has stopped some people from reaching out to their workplaces, the online freelancers are coerced to get locked in their workplaces! Isn’t that true? Yes!

Working from home is what the digital freelancers are used to do, and if I think from that perspective, our mode of doing business has not changed at all.

However, you need to be cautious and proactive, too, if you want to survive the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, as a freelancer. There should be an effective and precise system to handle your money and mental health without affecting the rapport with your clientele.

Why is this a good time for the online freelance business?

As more and more businesses are getting into the lockdown mode, they are also searching for avenues where they can leverage the power of the internet to run their businesses with understandable limitations.

The online freelancers not only can run the companies digitally but can also help them grow. We can associate ourselves with traditional businesses and help them make more money online.

✔️ As it is business as usual for the online freelancers to work from home, it is straightforward for the companies and service seekers to engage them quickly and get their work done.

Apart from that, a lot of other businesses are also trying to focus on digital marketing or social media aspects of their businesses, at present. Since they are not able to run their business with full vigor, they want to utilize this time to look into promoting it on social media.
