How much does a logo design cost?

Namaste friends and freelancers,

Often I get a question from both businessmen and graphic designers about the cost of logo design. While the businessmen want to know how much they should allocate for this task, the logo designers find it difficult to arrive at the right price for their services.

In this article today, I will talk about the process of logo designing and how the correct prices and budgets are arrived at for a logo design. By the end of this article, you will know how to price a logo correctly, whether you are looking to get one done or are going to design one for your clients.

The cost of a logo design varies with the expertise of the designer, the complexity of the logo, and your budget. An expert logo designer can charge thousands of dollars for designing your logo while a beginner will promise to get it done for very cheap.

While choosing the right designer for your work, you must know the purpose of your logo and understand how a logo can help you promote your business and make it a grand success.

Let's know about all these in this article. Let's start with understanding what a logo is and how it is going to impact the business.

How much does a logo design cost - The Indian Freelancer

What is a logo?

A logo is a graphical and symbolic representation of your brand. Precisely, it is much more than just these two aspects.

Your logo should create an emotional bond with the audience and depict the purpose of your brand. It seems to be tiny, but it is one of the most vital things that attract a customer.

As you have decided to invest money for designing the logo of your brand, you should also know what you would get in return for your investment.

It is better to go for a superior quality logo even if it requires a higher investment than to go for inferior quality just for the sake of "saving" your money.

Why is it necessary to design an appropriate logo?

It is essential to design an appropriate logo to achieve the following goals:

  • ·        A logo is the first impression of your brand, and hence it should be meaningful enough for customers to interact with your brand
  • ·        A good logo makes your brand stand out in the competitive market
  • ·        A unique logo creates an identity of your brand and is the face of your offering
  • ·        A great logo helps the audience to recall your brand and helps in the word of mouth promotion

What is the cost of a logo design?

If you are a client and wish to get a logo done for your brand, you must be wondering about how much it would cost.

There are hundreds of articles on the internet which provide information regarding the cost of logo design. It is to be noted that the price of designing logos varies from country to country in the world.

The cost of a logo design starts from $13 to $13000. Quite a huge difference, right? Here is what makes the difference.

Logo designers are classified based on their ability, experience, design, and the time taken to showcase the design. Due to these factors, the price varies.

For example, a beginner will not cost you as much as $1000 for designing a logo. On the other hand, a professional agency, too, will not charge you as low as $15.

I have categorized the prices for logo designing according to the spread of the kind of designers that you will be working with and what you can expect. I hope it helps you.

Budget Logo Designing (Below $132):

Who you would be working with: You would be working here with beginners, online logo makers, and people who are not professional logo designers.

They can provide you with basic designs. You can consider working with them if the need is temporary.

Otherwise, it is better to get a better logo designed even if a little higher investment is required. You can also get a logo within this budget by organizing online logo making contests.

What can you expect: In this budget, the logo is meant to be pretty generic and straightforward. You may also get a logo that is already used. The software used for creating such logos is often uncomplicated.

Mid-level logo designing ($133-$1300):

Who you would be working with: Here, You would be working with mostly freelancers. They might be having experience in designing logos for a few brands or companies.

They are not beginners, and most might have just passed out of college. But still, you cannot consider them to be tenured and seasoned professionals, as they lack adequate experience and exposure in most cases.

What can you expect: You can expect better than average quality and original logo. The designed logo will be well-thought-of.

If you are a bit tight on the budget, then you can probably go with them. Otherwise, you can wait until when you can afford to hire a better designer because the chances are that you may need to work on these logos to get a better finishing.

Advanced-level logo designing ($1301-$13000):

Who you would be working with: You would be working with people who have extensive experience in designing logos for brands that have proved themselves in the field of marketing and business.

They are usually experts and have much experience in the field of logo designing and related works. They are the seasoned professionals that you are looking for in ideal conditions.

This category of designers also includes big agencies whose primary business, in all probabilities, is to design logos.

Several people work in these agencies. So, you can expect your logo to be brainstormed, planned, created, curated, and supervised by a group of mature industry experts.

What can you expect: You can expect an outstanding logo that will talk everything about your brand, starting from its name to its purpose and every other related feature.

The chances are that it will ultimately serve your purpose of designing a logo for your brand or company.

Also, if you choose an agency, then you will get the best results because "Two heads are always better than one!"

More than one person will work on your logo, and that is the best part. It is often a necessity to get the best logo designed. The more eyeballs fall on your logo, the better it becomes.

Why does the pricing vary so much?

There are several factors based on which the professional logo designers decide on the price. Some of them are listed below:

  • ·        The time is taken to complete the project
  • ·        The software used to design the logo (complexity and cost factors)
  • ·        The perfection of the design
  • ·        The number of people engaged in designing the logo
  • ·        The finishing touch of the design

Now, you must be thinking, "How do I find out the right designers to invest?"

Here are some tips for you, from a seasoned logo designer who has hundreds of delighted customers already, and the number is only going up!

There are three types of logo designers whom you can engage in your project.

1. Beginners: They have no or less than 1-year experience and need a platform to experiment. They are learners of logo designing.

If your business idea is not big enough and you can not afford an expert to design your logo, then you may consider working with them.

Other than that, it is best to avoid investing in this category because most of their work will be of low quality and would not meet the industry standards. If you are lucky, you may even find your logo on the first page of a simple Google search! (Pun intended).

2. Mediocre Designers: They have some considerable experience in designing logos and are undoubtedly better than the beginner designers.

They focus on sharpening their skills and are always on the look for more projects to gain experience. If you do not have a very high budget for logo designing and cannot get an industry expert, you can hire them.

3. Experts: These are the subject matter experts and leaders in the industry. They will have a well-established portfolio that cannot be ignored.

Expert logo designers include either an individual or an agency. They are most likely to have a website of their own where their designs can be found.

You can consider hiring them if you prefer to have only the best and cannot settle for anything lesser than this. Also, please keep in mind that you must have a high budget for hiring these experts for designing your logo.

It is all that I have in this article. I am sure that by now, you would have a distinct idea about how much can a logo design cost. If you have any queries regarding this article or anything else on this website, please feel free to write in the comments below, and I will be quick to get back to you.

Can online freelancing survive during COVID-19 Lockdown?

Yes, online freelancing is one of the most sought-after ways for earning money online during the worldwide lockdown due to the outbreak of COVID-19 or the Corona Virus. Online freelancing is helping thousands from around the world to continue making money from online sources while working from home.

COVID-19 lockdown has affected many professionals as most of us are now locked down in our homes and are not able to go out to work as usual. Our social life also got hit as we cannot go out and meet friends and acquaintances like earlier.

Many people around the world are losing jobs or are out of work. The future for many of us has become uncertain.

However, in these tough times, too, the online freelancers are able to make money. It is also true that for some sectors, the workload has gone down. But for other areas in freelancing, the amount of work has gone up.

We must remember that there are simple and interesting waysof making money during this lockdown and online freelancing is not the only way. Nevertheless, it is one of the most prominent ways to earn money online during the Coronavirus lockdown.

In this article today, I am going to talk about the advantages of being a freelancer in these bad times when the global pandemic is on the rise. I will try to answer the question, can online freelancing survive during COVID-19 Lockdown?

Let’s get a couple of basics out of the way first.

What is Freelancing?

Freelancing is a way of earning money where the service seeker and the service provider work together on an ad-hoc basis and are not bound by contracts that can force any of them to work with each other again in the future. They collaborate for a short time, and they are free to work with someone else afterward.

What is Online Freelancing?

Online freelancing is freelancing using digital means and transacting online. Here, the service provider and the service seeker meet online, discuss and agree on the project specifications, including deliverables, payment, and timelines over the computer or on the phone work digitally using the computer or mobile phones, deliver the work online, and get paid online too.

At times a few of the above steps may be completed offline, based on the project requirements, but overall, this is how online freelancing system works.

In general, an online freelancer works from his home or home-office or even a co-working place. This aspect of online freelancing has encouraged a lot many people to take it up as a full-time career option. It turns out to be an essential feature right now as well, in these torrid times.

How is online freelancing helping during the Coronavirus pandemic?

It is the question that I am trying to answer in this article. Online freelancing is helping the businesses of thousands and lakhs of business owners even during this unfortunate situation where it has become tough to go out and do business as usual. Let’s see how.

✔️ Most people are stuck at home – both the seeker and provider. Many businesses which cannot run through the laptop have come to a standstill.

✔️ A few of them, which are partially dependent on information technology, are operating but not with the full workforce.

✔️ Only those businesses which are entirely dependent on digital systems are running on full sail. Online freelancing is one of them.

👍 Online freelancers are either building their businesses or helping the other such companies to grow during this COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

During the lockdown, people from all over the world are asked to stay home. A lot of corporate offices have also asked their employees to work from home. Home is regarded as a safe zone for all of us.

As this condition has stopped some people from reaching out to their workplaces, the online freelancers are coerced to get locked in their workplaces! Isn’t that true? Yes!

Working from home is what the digital freelancers are used to do, and if I think from that perspective, our mode of doing business has not changed at all.

👍 As every other industry is getting affected due to the lockdown, the community of online freelancers is thriving with no or little changes in their work environment and procedures.

However, you need to be cautious and proactive, too, if you want to survive the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, as a freelancer. There should be an effective and precise system to handle your money and mental health without affecting the rapport with your clientele.

Why is this a good time for the online freelance business?

As more and more businesses are getting into the lockdown mode, they are also searching for avenues where they can leverage the power of the internet to run their businesses with understandable limitations.

The online freelancers not only can run the companies digitally but can also help them grow. We can associate ourselves with traditional businesses and help them make more money online.

✔️ As it is business as usual for the online freelancers to work from home, it is straightforward for the companies and service seekers to engage them quickly and get their work done.

Apart from that, a lot of other businesses are also trying to focus on digital marketing or social media aspects of their businesses, at present. Since they are not able to run their business with full vigor, they want to utilize this time to look into promoting it on social media.

It is, in turn, bringing more work to the online freelancers, especially those who are in the digital marketing and creative fields. More of them are getting hired to look into the digital aspect of these businesses.

Can online freelancing survive during COVID-19 Lockdown?

So, the answer to this question is yes. Online freelancing will not only survive during COVID-19 lockdown but will also help the other businesses to propagate digitally and grow within their limitations.

If you are a digital freelancer, who works on digital projects from the comfort of your home, then this is probably one of the best boons in disguise for you. Do let me know in your comments if you feel otherwise.

There is a lot of work from home jobs that you can try as an online freelancer during this time. Since online freelancing is in demand right now, it will only be wise to get into it as soon as you can.

I wish that all of us survive this pandemic and come out of it fit and fine and we resume our businesses.

Those who are hiring freelancers now to boost their businesses, please do not forget them when you get back to your business as usual.

And those who are offering their services as freelancers and helping others grow, please put in your efforts to help the buyers as much as you can. Leverage the skills that you have acquired during those sleepless nights. Now is the right time!

I wish everyone all the best in whatever you are doing.
